Mixing your Weber. Tai Gres is a simple and straight forward job, the mixing ratio is 1 part water per 4 parts of adhesive. The water should be at room temperature and you should add the adhesive by small amount. It is important to mix the adhesive quickly as this will trap the unwanted air pockets in the mixture. Mix it well until a lump free paste is formed. Mixing it with the correct quantity is very important to get the right bonding. Allow the adhesive to rest for 5mins before you start applying it to allow the powder to mix effectively. You should use this mixture within 4 hours from when you make. Don’t immerse your tiles that you want to install in water, because it decreases the strength of the bond. Keep the tiles clean, dry and free from grease. Clean your floor to remove dust and debris, the level should be flat for proper application of adhesive. When it comes to application of the tile adhesive use notched trowel to deliver adhesive equally on the floor or wall which you will be tiling onto. Once you have applied a proper amount of adhesive to lay tiles onto, the recommended thick is 2-10mm. Now begin to level it out with your notched towel to make the area even. You should now be ready toplace your tiles on the adhesive. Take care of heavy tile, press them firmly and use a rubber hammer to knock on the tiles to fit well with adhesive. For tile size exceeding 25cm X25cm, use the adhesive in the back of the tile too. Prevent underneath void and use if lumps which makes the tile fragile.
